Created in 2002, the Agence du Bénévolat, a non-profit organisation under agreement with the Ministry for the Family, Integration and the Greater Region, aims to promote and develop the engagement of volunteers in Luxembourg.
The Agency's 3 main missions are :
- To promote the voluntary sector in organisations and disseminate useful information on how to get involved as a volunteer;
- To put interested individuals in touch with organisations that mobilise volunteers;
- Help organisations to recognise and value their volunteers.
The aim of the Agence du Bénévolat is to help anyone who wants to get involved as a volunteer in an organisation. On the benevolat.lu portal, volunteers can consult the offers of voluntary work published by the organisations and offer their help directly.
The Agence du Bénévolat organises training courses for associations and volunteers. It helps associations to set up and promotes a framework conducive to the development of volunteering within organisations.
The Agence du Bénévolat draws the attention of public authorities, civil society and social players to the importance of developing the engagement of volunteers within organisations as a means of strengthening social ties and combating all forms of exclusion. It also takes a stance on valuing and recognising volunteer involvement.
Volunteers and organisations can obtain information directly from the Agence du Bénévolat (individual interviews by appointment) or consult the volunteering portal, benevolat.lu.
