The Fondation Maison de la Porte Ouverte (FMPO) offers shelters and services for children, adolescents, unaccompanied minors, women in distress and victims of human trafficking. Since 1971, FMPO has been serving children, adolescents, unaccompanied minors, young mothers, young parents, women and men in distress and offers protection, support and social, psychological, legal and educational assistance. Our objective is to offer all these people an "open door" , to listen, accompany and help them by seeking the best possible response to an identified need, in reflection and in collaboration with all those concerned.
At present, the FMPO manages :
11 day and night shelters for children, adolescents, unaccompanied minors, young mothers, young couples, women in distress and victims of human trafficking;
1 day centre for adolescents;
2 psychological counselling services for minors, young adults and families;
1 family counselling service;
3 counselling services for young mothers, parents and women in distress;
1 support service for victims of human trafficking;
Supportive housing service for young adults, women and families;
1 socio-therapeutic centre for children in great distress at school.
FMPO offers further professional training on the subjects of domestic violence, early pregnancy and human trafficking.
FMPO is unconditionally committed to preventing and combating domestic violence and all other kinds of abuse. As a co-initiator of the Domestic Violence Helpline: 2060 1060, it developed the online questionnaire www.relation2test.lu in 2021 in collaboration with the Ministry of Equality between Women and Men.
FMPO, as a partner with the Ministry of Housing, implements the concept of social rental management (gestion locative sociale), which enables people with low incomes to have access to affordable housing.
