The Lëtzebuerg City Museum, which opened in June 1996, is located in the Rue du Saint-Esprit in the heart of the old town.
Like the city it mirrors, the museum itself is made up of two parts: while the floors (0, 1, 2 and 3) below the rue du Saint-Esprit entrance tell the story of the city's urban, social, economic and political development, the upper floors (4 and 5) are reserved for temporary exhibitions in which the museum deals with societal issues of current concern to its multicultural public, both local and foreign.
