The association Mäi Wëllen, Mäi Wee - Association for the Right to Die with Dignity Lëtzebuerg, initially called ADMD-L, was founded by Dr. Henri Clees in 1988 in Esch-Sur-Alzette. It has a mainly humanitarian purpose and is politically and religiously independent while advocating for a dignified end of life.
MWMW supports each patient in their freely chosen process and considers palliative care and euthanasia as separable.
Under the conditions required by the euthanasia and assisted suicide law, MWMW offers for those who are in a deteriorating and irreversible health condition: Information and private consultations, accompanying and supporting the patient and their loved ones throughout the procedure, and post-death presence for the loved ones.
MWMW emphasizes the importance of a trusting relationship between the doctor, caregivers, and their patient and is available for this purpose.
MWMW also offers informative conferences for the general public.
