          4. Encourage people with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers to participate in physical activity
          5. Inform about medical and non-medical treatments, rehabilitation and alternatives
          6. Preventing Social Isolation
          7. Supporting and representing the interests of Parkinson's patients and their companions in general

The meeting centre "La Tulipe" is an offer of "Parkinson Luxembourg a.s.b.l.", which opened its doors on 1st March 2013. The "La Tulipe" centre sees itself as a meeting place for the self-help group for people affected by Parkinson's disease or other Parkinson's syndromes, as well as their relatives.

To deal with the disease, we rely on 3 pillars: information, exchange, sport and movement.

In addition to the monthly thematic workshops, dealing with topics such as long-term care insurance, psychological problems or everyday life, we also have a extensive collection of documents on illness and the health system in Luxembourg. This library is available free of charge to anyone who is interested.

In addition to providing information, we consider it essential to motivate people to be independent and to encourage them to exchange and help each other. The disease is different from one person to another and in this sense, it is difficult to deal with it. Conversation often helps to realize problems and find solutions at the same time.

Special attention is paid to sports activities. They make up the largest part of our event program. In addition to medical treatment, science, sports, speech therapy, occupational therapy and creative activities play a decisive role. It is essential to start as early as possible with specific therapies in order to fully understand the disease and to remedy the symptoms as best as possible. Following this approach, we offer a diverse range of services to achieve these goals.

Our offer is to be considered as a professional complement to regular therapy, while addressing alternative therapies.

In addition, we provide an offer that is primarily aimed at young Parkinson's patients who are still active in professional life. The "Bistrot La Tulipe" is open every Thursday evening from 6 p.m.
