


Temperatures drop below the zero mark, the snow is back, and you are less and less likely to miss your plaid ... One thing could comfort you: a hot chocolate, a cappuccino, a cinnamon tea, in short, heat! So, in this cold period, do not refuse anything! Sit in your couch, put on your big socks and wool sweater, and choose from our list of hot drinks.
1. Chantilly hot chocolate
It necessarily reminds of memories! The taste of chocolate mixed with the creaminess of whipped cream will make the winter blues disappear every time. Very simple to make, it requires only a few ingredients and culinary mastery. To prepare it, you will need milk, dark chocolate, crème fraîche, sugar and cinnamon .
Simply heat the milk in a saucepan over low heat until it is hot, but not boiling. Add the pieces of dark chocolate and mix until the mixture is creamy. Add some fresh cream, a little sugar and mix everything. Beat the remaining crème fraîche to turn into whipped cream, place a good spoon on top of the hot chocolate, and sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!
2. The chai tea latte
Tea lovers know him well: a blend of black tea, milk and spices for a delicious Indian latte tea . To make it, boil the water for 10 minutes with milk, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, star anise and cloves. Once this mixture is well brewed, add black tea and leave on low heat for another 2-3 minutes. Filter, sweeten and enjoy!
3. The mulled wine
The must of winter and the end of the year holidays! Simply heat half of your wine (white or red) over low heat with cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, ginger, white peppercorns, and nutmeg. Once the whole is well infused, add a little brown sugar, the rest of the wine, pieces of lemon and orange (with the skin), and continue heating. Filter and serve very hot!
4. Hot cider
Very trendy last summer, in cold version, cider can also be drunk hot, following a recipe similar to that of mulled wine. Repeat the same steps but add, at the end, a spoonful of honey. Very popular in Ireland , this drink is enjoyed by the fire ... in moderation.
5. The pumpkin spice latte
Flagship drink for several winters, made famous by a major American brand, pumpkin spice latte is back in force this year! Subtle blend of coffee and pumpkin, it will undoubtedly seduce you . Make a pumpkin syrup first: mix pumpkin puree, water, sugar, vanilla bean, cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Then warm gently for 10 to 15 minutes. Filter and let cool in a sterilized pot.
Once the mixture is cold, put some syrup in the bottom of a cup, pour over espresso and hot milk. Cover with whipped cream and sprinkle with spices.
6. The grog
Known for its benefits against colds, sore throats and chills, the grog was the miracle recipe of our grandparents . To make a good cup, you'll need a cup of water, a tablespoon of amber rum, a tablespoon of honey, half a lemon juice and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Heat the water and gradually add all the ingredients. Once the mixture is warm and homogeneous, enjoy! And if with that, your throat does not pass the winter, no one can do anything for you!
7. Eggnog
To pronounce "Egg nogg" in English, eggnog is the typical holiday drink across the Channel . Prepared mainly with egg yolks, the more it is spiced, the more it is appreciated! So plan for 25g of sugar, 1 egg yolk, 10cl of milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, white rum, vanilla extract and cream. Heat the milk with the spices without boiling. In parallel, mix egg yolk, cream, vanilla extract, alcohol and sugar. Pour the hot milk over and mix firmly until you have a smooth drink.
