          Recipe for a delicious homemade bread

          4 basic ingredients

          To make a homemade bread, only a few ingredients are needed: flour ; water ; yeast ; and salt .

          Proper flour and yeast

          To make homemade bread, you need another flour than the one you use to make cookies and other pastries.

          To avoid complicating your life, choose the T55 flour , which is the most frequently used.

          Yeast must be bought fresh from your baker , or dehydrated in stores . If you opt for a classic yeast, your bread may be very dry.

          Water at room temperature

          For the yeast to rise, it is essential that the water used is lukewarm. 

          What's more, if the water in your faucet is too limestone or contains too much chlorine, it's better to use bottled water.

          Moisture

          If you do not use a bread maker, consider placing a container of water in the oven as you bake the bread.

          The water that evaporates will create moisture and you will get a bread that will not be too dry.

          • 500 gr. of flour
          • 320 gr. water
          • 10 gr. yeast 
          • 10 gr. salt  

          Mix the flour and salt.

          Make a well in the center of the mixture. Add yeast and lukewarm water.

          Gradually, add the flour to the water.

          When the dough becomes soft, start kneading. This action should take you between 5 and 10 minutes, until it is elastic.

          Place the kneaded dough in a container and cover with a cloth for 30 minutes.

          When the dough has risen well (it must double in size), lightly flour your work plan and put it on it.

          Shaping the bread: grab the dough on the side and fold it inward.

          Place the dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

          Before baking, wait another 30 minutes for the dough to rise.

          After this time, place the bread in the preheated 250 ° oven. Do not forget to slip a container filled with water. 

          For a 500 gr. Bread, count 25 to 30 minutes of cooking time. Count the double if the bread is 1 kilo. 

          To check the cooking, tap the base of the bread: it should ring hollow.
