6 tips to unclog a sink

The boiling water
Very simple, this method consists in pouring a liter of very hot water into your sink. The heat of the liquid should help to evacuate the elements blocked in the pipe if they are not too imposing.
Baking soda
In a bowl, mix white vinegar (the equivalent of a large glass) with a tablespoon of baking soda and a handful of coarse salt .
Leave it all in your blocked pipe for 15 minutes then rinse with very hot water.
Homemade preparation
Always in a container, prepare a mixture of the same amount of vinegar, soda and salt .
Pour this preparation into the line and leave on for 30 minutes, before rinsing with boiling water.
A garden hose
Push the object into the pipe and then run the water from the pipe continuously, so as to dislocate the cap.
You can also move back and forth with the hose, to destroy stubborn dirt.
A sucker
Often effective, the suction cup requires that you fill the bottom of your sink clogged with water , so that it covers the entire rubber of the tool.
Then place the suction cup firmly against the bung and create a draft by lifting it up and down. Perform this movement several times if necessary, until the sink is completely empty.
A ferret
Before using it, make sure that the ferret's head (a tool with a metal shank with a small brush end ) goes through the siphon elbow, and there is no risk that he remains stuck.
Once this precaution of use taken, push the object in your blocked pipe. You will feel resistance when you reach the stopper.
Then remove the ferret from the sink, its end should be covered with waste. Then run the water under pressure to ensure that all debris is evacuated.
If you do not have a ferret, you can make one with a hanger : by unfolding it, you create a hook on one side, and a handle on the other.
A chemical
If none of the above options worked, it's time to consider a chemical solution. In liquid or solid form, they are easily found in stores.
Before using it, carefully read the instructions for use , and cover your hands and forearms with gloves to avoid burning yourself when using it.
