To occupy the youngest during the Easter holidays, why not offer them a seasonal activity: decorate and paint eggs! Do not know how to do this DIY? Here are our tips!
At first, wash and then wipe the eggs. Then take a large needle to pierce each end of the shell. Insert it far enough to break the yolk. Also make sure that both holes made are at least ½ centimeter in diameter.
Once this step is complete, hold the egg over a container and blow into one end to empty it . You can optionally perform the same operation using a syringe.
Gently rinse (with cold water) and dry each egg.
If you opt for a color purchased from a store, follow the directions on the package. However, if you have decided to use a natural coloring, mix it with a teaspoon of vinegar.
Some ideas to get a natural shade :
Put your dye in a saucepan and add the eggs before covering the whole water. The entirety of each shell must be covered.
Bring to a boil and leave in the saucepan for 15 to 20 minutes. At most the eggs will be immersed for a long time in the dye, at most their color will be dark.
Remove the eggs from the pan and let them dry on a baking rack .
When they are dry, to intensify their color, you can brush them with a little oil .
To personalize your eggs, give free rein to your imagination and use markers, wax crayons, stickers, polishes, beads, or stickers . You will easily find all the material you need in the hobby shops .
You can also choose to decorate your eggs with a stencil (that you will buy in store or that you can manufacture yourself). Place it around the eggs and paint. After removing the stencil, let the egg dry.
