Are you tired of coats and scarves that are thrown pell-mell in the entrance, and in which you take your feet when you come home at night? So, follow this guide to create an original coat rack, both aesthetic and practical. The tree coat rack

During a Sunday walk in the forest, go for a pretty straight branch, which should be strong enough to support the weight of all clothing and have strong ramifications. Back home, we will have to customize this branch to turn it into a coat rack design . For that, break the twigs, if there are any, and cut them if necessary. Then, sand it, to rid it of its asperities and pass a soft cloth to remove the dust. Then, apply two layers of white paint, making sure to allow the wood to dry between the different applications. Of course, you can choose other paint tones or leave the branch in rough wood, if it is pretty. In both cases, coat the branch with varnish to protect it!
To attach the coat rack to the floor, two options are available to you. You can either screw it into the floor or create a specific base . In the first case, drill a hole with a diameter using a holesaw , slightly higher than that of the branch in the floor, then plant the branch in the ground and add a little plaster to fix it. If your cladding does not allow you to make a hole or you do not want to fix the coat hanger permanently, make yourself a base. You can opt for a piece of square wood , in a contrasting color with the coat rack or a cement base . Make sure that it is proportional to the size of the branch and not too heavy , so you can move your coat rack if you wish. You are now in possession of an object of aesthetic decoration and that you realized yourself ! To give even more originality to your tree coat rack, nothing prevents you to stick some small objects on it, or adorn it with a wallpaper or stickers deposited here and there as touches of color.
Create your recovery coat rack
Some of us love to hunt, but then wonder what they can do with these furniture handles found at the garage sale or this palette in pretty raw wood. Why not turn these objects (and others!) Into a clever coat rack?
To make the pallet rack, you need ... a palette that you will cut in half, you will use only one of the parts. Drill two holes in the back, which will be used to fix it to the wall. Then gather hooks or door handles , which you will screw every 10 centimeters on your pallet. Finally, you will suspend the assembly with two hooks , which you will fix in dowels adapted to the material of the wall. To stay simple and original, you can also recycle the old skateboard of your teen, coat rack! The principle is the same, paint it, if you wish, then hang it on the wall as explained above. This last idea will take you a little more time, but your coat rack will have a unique personalized rendering , which deserves your efforts! Bring old spoons , one for each family member. You will have first hammered them to make them as flat as possible, then, have them burn (or do it yourself) with the first names of each one. Bend the sleeves of the spoons to form the suspension. Fix them on a large wooden board that you will hang on the wall. Original, is not it?
