Our tips for choosing your heating system
Who says cold temperatures, says heating. Logic. But what system to adopt? Electric radiator, gas heater, wood stove? Read on the following, Editus.lu helps you make the right choice.
Some considerations to consider
Before deciding which heating mode to choose, consider: the quality of the insulation of your home, the desired level of comfort (a log boiler that involves daily recharging or an automatic gas boiler), the existing installation, but also your budget (the purchase price, but also the cost of the maintenance of the apparatus and the prices of the energy consumed).
Different types of heating
- Electric heating : There are two types, electric boilers and electric heaters. The former heat the water and then distribute it in radiators, while the latter use different technologies, such as electric convector radiators or radiators with inertia.
- Fuel heating : this system works thanks to fuel boilers and stoves. These are more comfortable than log boilers, which must be fed daily.
- Gas heating : Gas boilers operate in the same way as oil boilers, and can be low temperature or condensing.
- Wood heating : this method works with wood boilers, wood stoves or pellet stoves.
- Heat pumps : more economical than the systems presented above, heat pumps distribute heat through hot water radiators, underfloor heating systems, or fan coils.
Heating your house for free is possible?
Very clearly, no. It is imperative for all homes to have a heating system . On the other hand, you can try to lower your heating bill by opting for high-efficiency heaters or by installing solar panels .
