          As the world prepares to celebrate the passage to the year 2017 , a little overview of the customs practiced in the four corners of the world! You will see that from one country to another on the planet, traditions change enormously.

          In Argentina

          Women seeking love wear pink underwear on the night of December 31 to find the gem in the next 12 months. Another tradition is tearing up old documents, symbolizing that the year is ending and that all this paperwork is now a thing of the past. At midnight, the small pieces of torn paper serve as confetti since they are thrown from the windows.
           

          In Chile 

          The tradition is to swallow a spoon full of lentils, and this to ensure a year full of money and work.
           

          In Colombia 

          To ensure a year full of travels and discoveries, Colombians roam their neighborhood with an empty suitcase in their hands.
           

          In Denmark 

          On December 31st, it is customary that as midnight approaches, the Danes get on their furniture and that at 12 midnight strokes they jump on it to make the jump in the new year.
           

          In Scotland 

          As soon as midnight resounds, the Scots have their eyes riveted on their front door: the first person who crosses the threshold will determine the chance of the family living in the home throughout the year. This tradition is called "first jogging".
           

          In Spain 

          The custom is that at midnight the Spaniards swallow twelve grapes, at the sound of the twelve bell-strokes. This tradition, which would bring luck, prosperity and success, is respected throughout the country. Even the television and the radio broadcast the sound of the twelve bell shots so that no one misses the tick.
           

          In Japan 

          To have a long and happy life, the Japanese must eat the most mochi , glutinous rice cake. A tradition that, unfortunately, kills every year a few people by choking.
           

          Poland 

          To ensure sufficient cash flow throughout the year, the polish slip some carp scales served at Christmas Eve in their purses.
           

          In the Czech Republic 

          The evening of December 31, the future is in the apples. The core determines the fate of the person who cut the apple in half. Luck will be there if the core is shaped like a star.
           

          In Russia 

          The custom is to take a paper and write a wish, burn it, and throw it into a glass of champagne . For his wish to come true, it is essential to finish his cut.
