


A Christmas meal without dessert ... It's unthinkable! If the traditional log remains very popular, there are other alternatives to put on his table. We give you some tips to vary the pleasures!
Holiday star, the log no longer exists only in cream butter version , it is now declined to infinity: mascarpone, pastry cream, fruit, chocolate ganache, speculoos paste, etc. It is also available in ice and has had some success for a few years now.
Desire for tradition but with, however, a festive side? Give free rein to your imagination and think about the desserts you usually eat : Saint-Honoré, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, etc.
You can adapt their recipe for the occasion: tiramisu with pears and brown cream, chocolate and chestnut cheesecake, white chocolate and passion fruit mousse, Saint-Honoré with chocolate and orange, ... Test the recipe a few days before Christmas, to avoid any culinary disaster.
To finish your meal on a refreshing note, this is the ideal. There are of course the ice logs, but other alternatives exist: Norwegian omelette, vacherin, nougat, or iced mousse.
If you want a light dessert, nothing like a good sorbet : and as it's party, why not make it with champagne or mulled wine?

In Portugal : 13 sweets make up the Christmas dessert of the Portuguese, in tribute to the number of participants in the Last Supper. Among them, a rice pudding ( Arroz doce ) flavored with lemon and decorated with cinnamon; but also large donuts ( Filhós ) flavored with Aguardente, an orange flavored brandy.
In Slovakia : The traditional Christmas dessert from Slovakia is Stedrák , a cake made up of several layers: plum jam, poppy seeds, nuts and cheese. Poppy seed biscuits and gingerbread are also popular.
