6 tips to create a city garden

          faire un jardin en ville

Do you live in the city, far from nature? With a few tips, you can transform the balcony of your apartment into a real urban garden! Plants, flowers, shrubs ... Here are our tips for creating a green space.

          1. A gardening kit

No need to buy a spade and shovel, you will not use it.

What you need are the right tools: a garden claw, a decoy, but also a garden knife.

          2. Vertical plantations

On a small balcony, difficult to put as many plantations as you want.

To overcome this problem, you can create a vertical garden. Two solutions are available to you: create a plant wall, or fix a structure (stainless steel or wood) on which will hang your pots and planters.

          3. Which flowers to favor?

Better to avoid those that require pesticides and insecticides since your space is reduced.

Also be careful not to diversify the varieties of plants and flowers: Since cohabitation can be complicated, do not plant more than four different ones.

          4. A synthetic grass

Finish the concrete decor, instead of a fake grass that will make you feel like in a real garden.

When choosing your grass carpet, think that you will sometimes walk barefoot: so choose a model with rather short strands.

          5. Aromatic herbs

In small pots, or in a large tray, plant aromatic herbs: rosemary, thyme, chives, mint ...

You will need to buy a potting soil, as well as organic fertilizer.

          6. A relaxation area

To make your green corner a real small garden, buy a table and chairs, or a lounger on which you can bask.

Thus, when the sun will point the tip of his nose and you enjoy your balcony, you really feel like you have left the city.
