          07 JANV. 2019

If January is the coldest month of the year, no respite for gardeners, since some small jobs are still in the program to prepare the new season. Embrace yourself and take your courage with both hands: we will deliver our tips sheet to take care of your green space.

It is obviously impossible to plant when the ground is frozen. Nevertheless, if you see that the temperatures are softening, do not hesitate to put in the ground the shrubs and fruit trees which you did not have time to take care of before the winter.

You can also take care of climbing plants (vines, ivy ...), as well as perennials that will bloom in fine weather (geraniums, begonias ...).

January is an opportunity, if temperatures are above 0 °, to prune trees and shrubs , as well as all the plants you want to prune the branches.

If you had not taken the lead in December, it is high time to protect your crops with beds of straw or dead leaves .

Concerning the protected cultures with a veil of winter, do not forget to air them regularly. This avoids the humidity to settle there, and the development of rots.

During this month, harvest the lamb's lettuce, winter lettuce, cabbage, endives and parsnips .

You can also sow spring lettuces, turnips and leeks.
