Tips to take your cat to the vet

Take her cat to the vet

Fear of the cat, apprehension of his master: Having to bring your pet to the vet is sometimes the cross and the banner. To prepare the transport and the visit of your little companion, here are some elements to take into account.

          The cage

Being locked in a cage can be a traumatic experience for a cat.

Before locking your pet in, make sure it is clean, but also install a small blanket so that your four-legged friend is comfortably installed.

When bringing your cat into his cage, do not rush him. To not scare him, be affectionate .

You can also encourage her to go in thanks to a little treat .

Also try not to communicate your stress to your companion because he can easily decode your emotions.

          The car trip

Cats may be frightened when they find themselves in a car, especially when they are locked in a cage.

To make the trip to the vet in the best conditions, you can get synthetic pheromones , which you spray in his cage. This smell should calm your pet.

A few days before leaving for the vet, you can also spend some time with your cat in the cockpit in the car: locked in his cage, with you sitting at his side, he will be able to become familiar with the vehicle.

When driving, place the cage on the ground between the front and rear seats. This is where your four-legged friend will feel the least bit of braking.

On the other hand, if you decide to place the cage on one of the seats, do not forget to attach it correctly with the seat belt.

If your cat has motion sickness , you can give him bach flowers . Nevertheless, give it to him only with the veterinarian's approval: it is therefore useful to inquire with him before taking any initiative.
