Linked to alternative medicine, mesotherapy is a relatively recent localized care technique in the history of medicine.
Developed in the mid-twentieth century by a French doctor, mesotherapy involves injecting very small doses of drugs by micro injections in succession , just under the skin, without ever crossing the lipid barrier of the body. If the injected solutions are all accessible in pharmacy (anti-inflammatory, decongestant, saline solutions, minerals and vitamins, ...) note however that the use of cortisone is formally prohibited in mesotherapy care.
We are here between patch-type transdermal patches, which diffuse their active ingredients directly from the surface of the skin, and epidermal injections (traditional punctures), whose needle penetrates deep into the various layers of skin and fat. In mesotherapy, the principle is to inject infinitesimal doses of active ingredient closer to the pain area.
Mesotherapy is used to relieve pain tendon, joint, rheumatic, in the case of arthrosis, but also sprains, pain inherent to the problems of blood circulation (heavy legs) ... She has also made a successful appearance in dermatological and aesthetic care.
Mesotherapy is not painful, nothing to do in any case with the pain generated by the traditional bites. Here, the needles are less than 0.5 mm against 0.6 to 0.9 for conventional needles. Same for their length, which are adapted to very superficial injections.
There are, according to indications, two types of injections:
The intradermics, which are superficial , do not cause any pain or bleeding. These injections are done manually and are located under the skin.
Targeted intradermal injections are deeper , they can go down between 0.4 and 1.3 cm.
Practiced by hand, they are not painless. On the other hand, when the practitioner uses a last generation electronic injector, these assisted injections are completely painless.
Mesotherapy needles are for single use, ie they are changed between each patient, and the sterilized material to avoid all forms of contamination.
From birth to the most advanced ages, mesotherapy does not encounter a contraindication, if not the so-called classic allergies that everyone can develop in front of this or that product or drug.
Mesotherapy relieves localized pain in a very short time, with or without oral treatment. Moreover, more and more top athletes are using this method to resume the course of their sports activities in the shortest possible time.
In the field of beauty care or dermatology, mesotherapy gives very convincing results. Different injections of vitamins or amino acids and other hyaluronic acid make it possible to redraw the contours of the face, to effectively fill wrinkles and fine lines ... without resorting to a surgical act. In a few sessions the results are visible and durable . The same goes for baldness treatments, and other dermatological problems.
First of all, it should be known that mesotherapy can only be performed by a state-certified doctor. The latter, to be recognized as a mesotherapist, must also hold an intra-university degree in mesotherapy. At first, the doctor, after a thorough auscultation, remains the only judge of the justification and the necessity of mesotherapy sessions . If he decides to move towards this type of care, he will make his patient a prescription for him to get the drugs from a pharmacy . The sessions last about twenty minutes during which the mesotherapist will do several dozens of injections on and around the pain area or the area concerned. According to the indications, the sessions will be repeated at the rate of two or three sessions per month. In the most sensitive patients, the practitioner may prescribe local creams or anesthetics.
