In a few weeks, you will be many to take the direction of the mountain for a holiday more than deserved! But before putting on your skis, here are some safety rules to follow, to hit the slopes safely!
First of all, you will have to work on your physical condition, especially if you are an occasional sportsman: a muscular and cardiac preparation is essential .
Once in the mountains, it will be necessary to do the same: no question not to warm up each morning, at the risk of hurting you seriously.
Do not be a danger to yourself or others ... Adapt your speed and avoid dangerous behavior . If you do not feel comfortable on the slopes, go slow, it's useless to pick up speed if you can not control it.
Also be sure to respect the distances between you and other skiers . Be attentive to others and respect the following points: if you go over, do not shave other skiers; if you stop, keep yourself at the edge of the track so as not to disturb others and thus avoid a possible collision.
Having a suitable equipment is the basis. Your equipment , whether yours or rented, must be adapted to your size, weight and ski level . To find the equipment that will suit you best, do not hesitate to ask all the questions of the staff of the sports shop where you will go, they will guide you.
Side accessories, adopt the helmet : you probably think that it is not very beautiful but, in the event of falls or collisions, it makes it possible to avoid a traumatic brain injury. Better to sacrifice your style to ski safely.
Also essential are the sunglasses . They will prevent you, in particular, from burning your cornea because of the reverberation of the sun on the snow.
Every morning, before putting on your skis, have a solid breakfast . During the day, also take a few breaks to feed you, it is essential not to skip meals.
To give you energy, and so put the odds on your side to avoid injury, take some snacks on the tracks : prefer cereal bars, but also dried fruits.
