Our inter-communal syndicate supplies drinking water to the reservoirs of the communes that are part of the syndicate. The communes are then responsible for distributing it to residents via their local water networks.
The purpose of the syndicat is to create, maintain and extend :
- spring catchments,
- boreholes (wells),
- protection zones,
- pumping stations,
- treatment plants (disinfection),
- water reservoirs,
- pipes and all the technical installations required
Its mission: to supply its customers with drinking water of impeccable quality in the quantities required at a reasonable price.
In addition, the syndicate directly supplies drinking water to the Arcelor group's steelworks in Esch-Belval, Esch-Schifflange and Differdange, to several other industrial sites, and to a number of non-unionised localities.
The total length of the SES waterpipe network is 235 km. The distribution pipes have a total length of 196 km, while the supply pipes are 39 km long.
The SES currently has 22 member municipalities, namely :
Bertrange, Bettembourg, Differdange, Dippach, Dudelange, Esch-sur-Alzette, Frisange, Garnich, Habscht, Käerjeng, Kayl, Koerich, Leudelange, Mamer, Mondercange, Pétange, Reckange-sur-Mess, Roeser, Rumelange, Sanem, Schifflange and Steinfort.
The syndicate is administered by a committee on which the adhering communes are represented in proportion to their population.
